Shining Stars Classroom

Who says that Disneyland is the happiest place on earth?  One of the happiest places to be on Sunday mornings is The Shining Stars Classroom at Calvary Church.  The blessing, joy and inspiration that comes with being around this group of children with varying disabilities has to be experienced to be understood.   

Favorite time for the kids and the Star Tenders (volunteers/staff) is circle time.  Everyone participates and responds, even those who are non-verbal. Sometimes the response is a long time coming; everyone in the circle is sitting on the edge of their seats, mentally reaching out to that child.  The love is palpable.  But, oh the reward when the child responds - the knowledge that for that moment there is a deep connection with this child who is experiencing God’s love and giving it back in return is truly a “God moment”.
